Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
During press conference, Payton was asked if he thought we had our swagger back. He hemmed and hawed, was polite, etc, and said basically, "well we've won a few games, and we have some work to do....." C'mon Coach--don't worry about always saying the polite thing. The answer is OF COURSE WE DON'T HAVE OUR SWAGGER BACK. WE HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO TO BE THE TEAM WE WERE LAST YEAR BUT WE'LL GET THERE. Yeah a win is a win. |

Re: Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
Were slowly getting it back, we'll have to kick it up a notch for S.F., however it's coming, and that's good!

Re: Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
Not even close.
But a couple wins back to back should start to lift the spirits and adjust the attitudes of the players. Neither win was a "convincing" or "dominating" win. But a win is win. Hopefully this will get some momentum going for the team. |

I'm personally happy with the performance in the last 2 games Don’t get me wrong I see room for improvement in a few areas but what every they are doing I say keep it up |

Re: Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
I thought the Seattle win was a dominating win, but they reverted to their old ways against Atlanta ans were lucky to come away with a win. If Leftwich (sp?) had not gotten hurt, I think we were in for a loss.
I don't think you can have any swagger at 2-4 especially coming off a win against one of the worst teams in the league. It should help restore some of the confidence lost at the start of the season. If they can pull out 3 of the next 4 - which seems possible - then they'll be 5 and 5 with 6 to go. That would give them something to swagger about. |

Re: Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
Jury is still out. There are some things that I am still very concerned about. We won the game but we have a long way to go. I don't know if we could have gotten past a decent team this week. We lost the time of possesion battle and had they been a average red zone team we would have been in trouble. Let's go back to work and polish up the running game. Let's see if we can get Karney a few more carries....let's see if we can increase his totes to...how about ONE.

No, we have a stagger. Staggering to the finish in 3 consecutive games, where the only teams we've been able to beat are the ones only capable of beating themselves.

I also think we are close but not there yet. Last year we would have beat the Falcons 45-16.

Re: Do We Have Our Swagger Back?
I will say we are improving each week, the defense is much improved and our offense is driving the ball down field better.
Winning two in a row buys them time to get better and with the Bucs losing it just makes everything to look better for the Saints.. 3-4? I can see us beating the 49'ers and with that win we're right back in the hunt to win the South.. Bush played his butt off yesterday, he's running hard and looked very fast yesterday. Keep up the good work boys.. Look at it this way, most of us feel a lot better than we felt sitting at 0-4, I can only imagine how the players and coaches feel right now. News bulletin: Thomas won't improve. |
Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.
