Defensive Stats tell it all
After 9 games, Saints defense is at the bottom of the NFL in crucial stats. No offense can overcome numbers like these:
Opposing QB passing rate: 32nd, 100.4 40+ Plays: 32nd, 9 20+ Plays: 32nd, 34 3rd down eff: 31st, 47% Passing yards/gm: 29th, 251 yds Payton/Gibbs: Do something different ! |

I am not a big fan of stats. You can make them read whatever you want. However, when you are ranked dead last in a lot of areas, its not good. Some people will say "yeah but out run D is awesome". That is so misleading when any QB can come up against us and look like a pro-bowler, hell then scrap the run and go pass happy against us.
We continue to go up against big lines we are going to get abused. The first 2 sacks we got were blown blocking assignments by the Rams not that we bull-rushed or over powered anyone. They were gifts. We have some major flaws and we are so damn lucky to be playing in the horrible NFC that we can get by with the flaws we have. |
