Re: Colston no one-year wonder
Colston has good size and good hands. According to Bobby Hebert on WWL if he would have caught another pass for at least 7 yards he would be the 1st wr in Saints history to have 4 straight 100 yd games in a row. I think he can be a #1 wr especially in this offense which hasnt been to vertical more of the under stuff. He is a great possession receiver.
Has anyone seen that commercial with Colston when he catches the ball with one hand and then catches one behind his back? Is it real? Just seems like it has to be altered. |

Re: Colston no one-year wonder
He has all of the skills to be a number one. It will depend on how the plays get called. It will depend on Brees getting the ball to him in all the right places: not too high, or too low - behind him while on a full run, not on the defender shoulder but on the lead side away from the coverage. That will depend on Brees having time to plant his feet each week and not 1 out of every 4 weeks. All of that will depend on us handing the ball off 30 times a game like we did today, and learning how to be happy with 3 yards per carry. That is what will allow us to have the ball 2/3's of the game...almost 40 minutes today. That is what will give Colston his CHANCE to be an elite number one. He started slow and has come on like gang busters of late. He can do it; it will take a lot of things working together to make it happen. Even then, he will still have to make the catches and do something with it after the catch.
