Does Charles deserve it? Well to me that has 2 answers. As a leader and cheerleader, the answer is yes.

As a pure player, no. He needs to step up his game and produce more. He's ok against the run. His pass rushing skills seem to have diminished some. He has very few sacks this year. But who on this defense has very many? No one. All these guys aren't playing to their best. Brian Young was playing very well till his injury. We'll have to wait and see how he does now. Smith isn't playing up to his ability either right now, but there might be reasons for that too. When you're the only player putting forth any kind of effort, other teams notice this and they do what it takes to neutralize you. Are they doing this to Smith, yeah, probably.

So, there are many answers to your question. All are right and all are wrong. Take your pick.
