Mixed feelings....
I was just thinking that now the pressure is off, and considering our schedule, we will very likely run the table and win out the rest of the year. The sports experts will be writing about how at the end of the season, we finally got our problems fixed and next year (I'm so very tired of this mythical "next year" I'm always hearing about. I'm sure it will come... right after bag ol' bigfoot on my next hunting trip) we'll be in the Super Bowl mix. The thought did not make me happy in the least.
I find myself absolutely certain that I will take very little joy in any wins remaining in this season. I see serious problems with this team, and I don't think we'll address them in the off-season (certainly not the MOST serious, which is coaching). I think our management staff will be drinking the ESPN kool-aid and will believe that with a few small adjustments, we'll be "perfect". Even worse, I think that if we lost every game the rest of this year - it's still no guarantee we'll make any significant changes so long as we have this coach and he's not going anywhere any time soon. I am depressed today. I think that game really took something out of me. |

I'm almost to the point of wishing the Saints hadn't done as well as they'd had last year. That way I'd have no real high hopes for them other than a wild card spot--which has always been the most I expected out of them in years past. |

I would love to see us finish of strong. It would be different from last year were we struggled. And the year before that and the year before that, so on and so forth. Who says the remaining schedule is easy? Atlanta granted, Philli still wants our head from last year, Arizona has been playing some good ball and then in Chicago. Nothing easy about it

Re: Mixed feelings....
All I want from the Saints for the rest of the season is respectability. We've lost that I think. It hurts but when you've been a Saints fan as long as I have (1967) nothing really surprises you. Now don't get me wrong, i'm talking about wins and loses only. Play calling (like yesterday) can always amaze you.
Give me repectability please. If not for me. Then do it for yourselves. Because right now, i'm not sure you have anybody's respect. "I am depressed today. I think that game really took something out of me." by Frenzyfan This game took something out of all of us. Hell, it even has me agreeing with Euph on several things. That's my best effort at a smile Euph. |

Re: Mixed feelings....
You know, quite honestly, I'll take losing the next three games if we can just beat the pants off Chicago.
