Horn 'won't forget' hurt left by New Orleans

Horn 'won't forget' hurt left by New Orleans | ajc.com

The 35-year-old wide receiver took umbrage with second-year coach Sean Payton, blaming his ego and treatment of people for New Orleans' slippage out of the playoff hunt after making it to the NFC championship game.

He also said he was seriously stung by fans who booed him Oct. 21, when the Saints defeated the Falcons 22-16 in his first trip back to a city he embraced and embraced him, especially after Hurricane Katrina.

"I love the players there," said Horn, who made three Pro Bowls in seven seasons with New Orleans. "They know. They know Joe Horn and they know how I feel about them so I'm not trying to give no locker room, bulletin board, rah-rah material that gives them confidence and excitement to get them to come here and play hard.

That's funny, Joe Horn never mentioned any of this before Joe Horn left for Atlanta with a big new contract... Face it Joe Horn. It was Joe Horn's ego that kept him from staying with our team bc Joe Horn couldn't stay with the team Joe Horn "loved" for less than the millions and millions Joe Horn was still worth. Great career here in N.O. but Joe Horn's value is higher to Joe Horn than his loyalty to any team, player, coach OR city.

Love ya Joe, but bite me.

He actually left the Saints for less money not more. His ego got the best of him. I love you Joe but you wanted to be a Dirty Bird.

Absolutely. Be careful what you ask for Joe. You will get it.

And to think Joe could've helped make the Saints a very prolific organization.

Joe knew that he was going to get booed. He is no stranger to the rivalry we have with Atlanta. He could have signed anywhere else and he would of gotten cheers. But Atlanta. Heck Morten's return should have told him that when Joe was a saint. This is just joe being joe. water off a ducks back.

Not technically true. The Saints wanted him to restructure his contract to about 2.5 and he signed with Atlanta for 4.75.

I'm sure the loss of financial resources would've set him back tremendously as the cost of bread has risen dramatically.
