Ex-Saint HIlliard can related to Bush's injury- NOLA.com
"It wasn't one of those type of injuries where you have excruciating pain and you have to get carted off the field," said Hilliard, 43, the owner of Southland Energy Services in Houma. "It was very unusual. It began to get tighter and tighter through the course of the game and basically, I had no more mobility. "In my opinion, it was the demise of my career. I never could recover from it. I could never regain the ability that I once had." |

Re: Ex-Saint HIlliard can related to Bush's injury
I really believe that Bush should be placed on injured reserve because of this. Here is a story I came across on PFT a little while ago:
POSTED 2:23 p.m. EST, December 9 ,2007 SAINTS, BUSH AT ODDS? Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that there's a disagreement between the New Orleans Saints and running back Reggie Bush regarding whether Bush should try to play again in 2007. Bush's camp, per Mort, wants the player to be shut down, due to a partially torn PCL. But the team thinks that he can play with the injury. As we recently reported (and as Mort confirms) Bush has been playing with the injury for several weeks. The 5-7 Saints would like to run the table and try to qualify for the playoffs as a wild card. A collapse by the Bucs could also open the door to the NFC South crown. |

Are we in it for the long haul or are we in for short term investment? If the doctors say no then no it is. Why risk shortening his career? Stecker and PT are the players the team picked to be the back ups. So live with it. One man does not make a team. Well if Drew goes down thats another story.

Bush should rest and let his knee heal. During the offseason he should add more weight to his body and stop doing that Free Flow Do crap. Talk to Barry Sanders, Emmit Smith and Warrick Dunn on how to run the ball better.

Re: Ex-Saint HIlliard can related to Bush's injury
I have a torn PCL that I suffered while playing Goal in an ice hockey game.
It's one of those injuries that you play through BUT you know something is wrong. Unlike professional athletes, it took me 6 months to get an MRI to find this out and after, the dr. said they can't repair it anyways, unlike the ACL. They gave me strenghtening exercises and I live with it but i will never regain the mobility on it that I had. I have not played Ice hockey since. I hope Bush can heal better then I did and we get to see his true potential blossom on the football field, not end before it even begins. |
