Re: Realistic look at offseason. Opinions on free agents, ect..
Out of the list shown on the top of FA, I would sign Faine, Goodwin, Miller, Stecker, Nesbitt (unless Alleman is ready to roll) and Henderson if he is a restricted FA. Give him second level tender offer and hope someone offers him a contract so we could get a draft pick for compensation for losing him. The rest I would let go.
As far as FA pick ups, if McKenzie is going to be on the IR next year I think the Saints have to make a strong push to get an elite corner. Asomugha has been outstanding for the Raiders the last 2 years and would to see him in Black and Gold. As Hagan714 stated, I am not sold on Briggs either. He plays outside linebacker, which we have a good one in Fujita. Briggs is good because he is next to a field general in Urlacher. I even believe that Shanle would be as good if not better than Hillenmeyer of the Bears if we had a great MLB. I think the Saints should look into possibly picking up Vilma of the Jets and see were Al Wilson stands with his injury. Get Wilson in here as a backup to Vilma to have him teach Vilma. that's just a few of my thoughts........would welcome any input. |
