However, Rogers-Cromartie, is the guy I really like. Just from what I have seen of the kid, he has "Playmaker" skills. I just can't agree with the assessment that he will have difficulty in the NFL. If I was on the draft committee, he would be my #2 pick. I just don't see him lasting to the 3rd.

I would love to have him with our second round pick. His cover skills looked outstanding during Senior Bowl week and he brought it to the game also... great prospect. Todd McShay's new mock has him going late in the first round to the Cowboys. The latest he will go will be mid second.

1. This is a very deep class of junior and senior receivers.

2. One of the more respected draft analyst thinks Cromartie will go in the first round and you think he's a 3rd or 4th rounder?

3. Cromartie played against the top senior quarterbacks and WR's at the Senior Bowl.

4. Though his name helps him stand out, if you watched him play you'd realize it's more than just the name. He has legit cover skills, acceleration, and outstanding recovery speed.

5. I'm tired of hearing we should be skeptical of some of these small school kids because of their level of competition. Some of those kids are as good as if not better then some of these division 1A guys. If you have talent, you have talent... that's why teams scout and evaluate players. Rashean Mathis one of the best corners in the league came from a small school.

Does anyone know our "draft formula"? If so, please share.

30. Green Bay Packers -- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tenn. St.
Record: 13-3 | Needs: CB, OT, S, TE, PT
Previous mock selection: Fred Davis, TE, USC
Packers QB Brett Favre certainly would welcome the addition of a tight end like Davis, who can stretch the seam and generate yards after the catch. However, the team has a more pressing need in the defensive secondary, and Rodgers-Cromartie is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2008 class right now. The small-school product proved capable of playing with the big boys at the Senior Bowl, where he demonstrated outstanding versatility and athleticism playing both free safety and cornerback throughout the week.
McShay's mock position of Cromartie. I'll continue to post as other evaluators give their updated opinion on him.

I'd also like to say I'm willing to bet Wheatley goes at least a full round and a half after Cromartie is picked.

The only problem with your scouting reports is that Cromartie is not Usama Young.

Then why not pick Cromartie, instead of a guy who has the potential to be just as good? The name similarity is not what made me notice him. Saintfan1976 is the one who brought him to my attention.

Potential, should be a Saints fans most hated word. How many years did this team "Have the MOST POTENTIAL to be the best in the NFC South and Conference".????? Alot, AB was the "Potential" King, and we all know where he is now.

Potential is such an ugly and scary word.

Wheatley: 5-9
Cromartie: 6-1

We already have one Jason David on the squad, thanks.
