Should the Saints be interested?

If this is true, I think the Saints should make a run at him. He is still only 32, and could be a key addition for a couple of seasons. Draft a young guy to groom as his replacement, and the MLB position could be in great hands for several seasons. What do you guys think?

Ray Lewis could force way out of Baltimore?

Ray Lewis, who missed the final two games with a dislocated finger after having his best season since 2003, is signed for one more year. Will he play out his deal and go from there, or will he demand a contract extension or push the Ravens to trade him? -- Baltimore Examiner

Good question. If you remember a few years ago when the D line for baltimore wasnt very good Lewis was pretty much ineffective all year and i dont see our line being any better than theirs was then, plus hes older now. Even still, its probably better than anything we had this year.

I dont think bringing in Ray Lewis is the solution to our problem. He will be looking for more money then he is worth. He is on the downfall of his career and is starting to become very injury prone. Id pass on Ray

Wow, I am amazed at how many would not like the move. He is coming off a 120 tackle season and is a true leader. I do not view him as the overall solution to the Saints problems, but could be productive for a couple seasons while he helps bridge the gap for his eventual replacement. I also think his presence would elevate the players around him.

I can't say I would be upset if we picked him up, but I don't think he would be the savior of of the defense. 32 isn't young in the NFL.

I think it all depends upon money, and who else is available in the draft and FA.

Ray Lewis on the downside of his career is better than almost all of our current LB's in their "prime".

For a incentive laden contract I would jump at the opportunity for a leader and a guy who gives it everything he has like Ray does.

HELL YES. Ray brought it this year. He might not be the league MVP like he was a few years ago, but the guy is head and shoulders above the rest of our linebackers. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Is Ray Lewis better than ANY lb coming out of college right now? Is Ray better than all the Saints current lbs? If you answered yes to both questions, nuff said.
