Deuce, Colston, Evans tidbits
Deuce McAllister-RB-Saints Jan. 24 - 12:04 pm et
Saints GM Mickey Loomis was non-committal when asked about Deuce McAllister's future with the club on Wednesday. New Orleans will make a decision on McAllister in March, when he's due a $1 million roster bonus. It seems likely that Deuce will be paid after Reggie Bush failed to establish himself as an every-down answer in 2007. The team could then look to turn some of his $3.6 million salary into incentives. Loomis did say that McAllister's recovery from a torn ACL is going well. Both can become restricted free agents in 2009. They were also both 2006 second-day picks who've become key parts of New Orleans' young offense. Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

I'm gonna be sick when we let Deuce go. And, it's unfortunate because Deuce has been so strong for New Orleans...But can anyone present an argument for why we should keep him? Major injury risk and huge contract $$$.

Probably not a great case, but it's true that when he's healthy, this is a MUCH better football team, and he has the ability to put the team on his back if we need him.

I've got to go with my gut and say Deuce will be missed, if they decied to let him go. I'd love to see him play for a minimum of one more season.

Amen. Turner could get the "starter" label he wants. Regg is the skat and PT gets another great tandem to develop behind. Sign the O Line and slide a FA wide receiver in there and you've got a solid offense for '08.
