I'm just curious...

That's the first thing that came to my mind, besides "wow, I can't believe he did that." Archie used to have to do something like that in just about every game he played. The apple definately didn't fall far from the tree that's for sure. |

I said the same thing. That play had Archie written all over it. Even Eli's and Payton's old coach at Newman said Eli was more of the runner and gunslinger like Archie while Payton was the pocket passer.

Re: I'm just curious...
Yeah, it kind of reminded me of Archie. About to get his butt killed, shakes tackles, starts scrambling around and launches a prayer type of pass. The only difference is Archie's pass would have been a little better thrown but it would have been dropped... LOL. I will tell you one thing, I bet any money that both Eli and Peyton wishes they had the wheels that Archie had. That is the one thing neither was blessed with...

I was thinking the same thing. What I'm really anxious to see is when Eli and Peyton start having kids... I figure by the fourth generation 3/4 of the teams in the NFL will have a Manning as their QB.

Got to agree. It's nice to see the Mannings doing so well. National recognition for New Orleans natives - that aren't thugs or questionable character, illiterate types.
Kudos to the Mannings. |
