Never heard that one before. And for all you "a good cb doesn't matter unless you have good pass rushing DLineman and LB's, have you even considered that good corners give the pass rush that extra second or two to ACTUALLY get to the qb? If a qb sees his first read is covered, he than has to go through his check down process ie, he has to spend MORE time in the pocket enabling the pass rush that much more time to get to him. All this "if we don't get better DT's then it doesn't matter about what kind of corners you have" is hogwash. It is my contention that good corners make avg DT/DE and LB's look even better. DT are space eaters anyway. Now, if Charles Grant would give us ANY kind of consistant pass rush, it might just enable W.Smith's numbers to go up. Want to blame someone, Grant is a viable candidate.
I'm curious missile, have you ever seen a "running QB"? Do you remember how Vick used to run all over us? I seem to remember Vince Young doing the same thing. Would that have happened with a better LB corps? I think not.

Also curious, how many cb's cover rb's, fb's, or te's? Dump passes, and screens KILLED us in how many games this season? Opportunities opened up down the field, because our safeties were having to come up to help our linebackers, which also caused many big plays.

The year we went to the championship game, all of these same things rang true.

It seems to me, all you are worried about is long passing plays. Last time I checked, there are running plays, screens, dumps. Alot of things that happen, where the CB has no play on the ball at all. It takes more than one player to fix a team, thus the term team. And I will stand by my belief, that WITHOUT great players up front, even the best CBs are going to get burned. Hmmmm, does anyone know where Denver was ranked, in pass defense last season? Champ Bailey plays for them right?

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....
