Briggs visit

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why would he shoot the story down unless it was true? Think about it. If the story was false, the smart thing to do would be to stay quiet and let the rumor spread to extract more money from whomever ...

Why would he shoot the story down unless it was true? Think about it. If the story was false, the smart thing to do would be to stay quiet and let the rumor spread to extract more money from whomever he really was talking to. The only reason I can think of to squash the story is if it's true. That way other teams might stay on the line rather than look elsewhere. I have to believe that the Saints are talking to his agent right now but that may just be wishful thinking.

I think we should sign Briggs, Florence, Dyson and trade for Stroud (give them our 2nd) and with the Vilma pickup our defense is instantly upgraded to better than average. We could then use the first pick for anything we want like a good OT (Clady), RB (Mendenhall), TE (Davis or Keller) or even yes a QB (Ryan, Brohm or Flacco) to backup Drew.

That's a lot of money Cher, I know we have some cap space, but I don't think we have that much.

And if we were going to go offense at #10 (only after taking care of all positions in FA), then I'd suggest OT only.
