Re: Briggs visit
Actually the best part of getting Briggs would be that we wouldn't have to reach for Rivers at #10. We can draft a CB or (if the unthinkable happens) Ellis/Dorsey.

Re: Briggs visit
ideally we'd sign Briggs and Gay, resign Jahri Evans and Marques Colston, then draft Cromartie.

Before you go open-loop at this suggestion, consider the following. On 1st & 2nd down we should be able to stop the run with the front 7, allowing Harper to stay back in coverage. Maybe, just maybe, Bullocks won't bite so much on play action, knowing that the front 7 have it covered. Then on 3rd down, we can bring in our pass rushing DE, slide Grant into the middle next to Dorsey/Ellis and put some real heat on the QB. All of this has the net effect of taking a lot of pressure off the defensive backfield.
On the other hand, if we don't manage to get Dorsey or Ellis, I'm ok with picking up a CB in the first (DRC, McKelvin, Talib, etc.). |

Imagine this Fujita, Simoneau (after Vilma gets hurt in game 5) and Shanle and we'll still have the same cornerbacks and defensive tackles.
Just click your heels together Dorothy and it will come true, we all know it will. |

Re: Briggs visit
I think that if Vince Hall is available around round 4 or five we should take a serious look. When he was healthy he was a beast and a leader in the middle for VT. I believe that he could shore up our run defense if Vilma isn't ready or gets hurt. Hell hes definitely better than Simaneedstogo!
