Roundup: Jets trade Vilma, acquire All-Pro DT - NFL - MSNBC.com so if vilma performs well they would give us back the fourth pick next year (giving us 2 fourth picks) and we would lose a 2nd or 3rd i think.... |

Re: Another Louisiana Native...
I have heard both. Right when the trade happened I heard conditional 4th next year. But I heard on ESPN radio there was a mistake and the media misinterpreted what should have said a fourth round and a conditional. But who knows.

A fourth, plus a second or third? This deal is not sounding nearly as sweet, if that's the actual cost.

Re: Another Louisiana Native...
Not a fourth + a second or third, but a fourth this year and if vilma performs well we would have to upgrade it to either a second or third next year and get jets fourth pick in 2009 - giving us (2) fourth round picks in 2009
at least thats how i decipher it |

Re: Another Louisiana Native...
we give up our 4th this year.. if we sign him to an extension and he meets certian performances, then it will be upgraded to a 3rd or 2nd next year and we also get their 4th next year in return

Than it's a reasonable deal, I can accept it. Let's hope the Jets really suck this year, because Vilma's going to rock the Saints this year. When we get their fourth round pick next year, let's hope it's sitting right at the top of the draft order.

NEWS FLASH INTO THE NEAR FUTURE!
Saints trade up in the 2008 NFL Draft and take Darren McFadden. Payton can't resist himself. Putting two superstars in the same backfield assures the Saints one of the best offensive attacks in the league. Any question of Deuce's injury are put to rest with this pick. Look out NFL. Pick your poison with these guys. |
