Here's the BMG wacky idea of the day.

Reggie could be the future, but as the Saints version of Wes Welker.
I'm nearly in favor of drafting Mendenhall and using Reggie to play slot receiver. He could be just as indispensible and electric as Wes Welker to us.

Plain and simple Reggie is not used properly. If Bill had him in New England he would be breaking records weekly!So unless Payton plays to his strengths i say he leads us no place.

In no means am I starting a fight.... but what was Reggie drafted as, played in college as???? Oh yeah, I remember... A RUNNINGBACK!

Payton is using him at his "Strength" he's a runningback. If we needed a WR, then that's what we would have drafted him as. Reggie shows up on the roster as RB. I'm all for putting him on the line, and yes, he does work best in the open field. If that is what we need to do with him, then lets dump a couple of WR's and go out and draft McFadden so we can have a runningback. Deuce won't last forever.

I don't mean to bash Reggie, but all this talk of Payton needs to use him better (and your not the first to say it) just doesn't wash. At the end of the day, Reggie is the one who either performed or didn't. Reggie is a big boy now, he needs to take some blame for his performance, or lack there of.

He hasn't proven to me that he wants it bad enough. He should be in the gym, bulking up, training with and sweating with his teammates. Instead, he's living Hollywood. He doesn't want it.

Agreed, I think. Reggie needs to own his lack of production. He doesn't hit the hole, he doesn't move through the trash at the line, he isn't fast enough to get to the corner like he wants too, he dances and reverses field too quickly.

I agree that in the open field, he causes problems. He's pretty good coming out of the backfield as a receiver, but even then he can't always make it to the corner. But he's going to cause match up problems if the ILB is trying to cover him. I don't know if Reggie should like up in the backfield or in the slot all the time, but I would like to see some plays where he functions like Welker does with the Pats.

McFadden is pretty exciting, but I'd rather have Mendenhall for his power, running style and shorter injury report. McFadden took too many hits over the past couple of years and will put the ball on the ground pretty regularly.

Our coach needs to line-up Reggie at WR atleast 4 times a game.
It seem that teams knew that Reggie would recieve a toss to the outside.

What type of player was Reggie at USC... A RETURN MAN!

He split carries with the Running back (White). We got an over priced return man we are trying to hang our hopes that he is the next Walter Payton. HE WILL NEVER BE.

He is exactly what we drafted and nothing more. Stop trying to expect a mircle from one person. We need 50-some odd players and some great coaches.

Didn't everyone, I mean nearly everyone, that watches the sport think Reggie was going to be an awesome RB (not a return man)? C'mon Euph. Did you know he was going to flop at RB? You and what, nine other peeps on the NFL? C'mon, everyone bought into him being something special - at RB.
