You da man Pak, I like that enthusiasm. Reggie is a world-class athlete who needs a little learning and patience, but also needs to be used correctly. Think about how many highlights he made during his rookie season compared to last year. He might not be a traditional running back, but they don't need him to be that. Work him at RB and out in the slot. Mix it up. Have fun with it again. I can't wait to see Reggie this next season, I think he wants to prove himself.

Re: Reggie Bush, the FUTURE?
I think he takes that next step this year. He has to realize if he wants to remain in this league and continue to make a lot of money, he's going to have to step up his game. We'll see more of what he did from his rookie year compared to last year... we're going to see a man on the field this year.

Re: Reggie Bush, the FUTURE?
Boy you know this is one heck of a hard question to answer. Maybe because it's just too straight forward. Reggie is one of those players who brought the "outside of football world" with him. He is Hollywood, he is television, he is an endorser's wet dream. BUT..... The cloud of hype has now begun to settle and after just two short years in the NFL there seems to be more questions than answers. I'd love to see Reggie do well and take the Saints to places they've never been (1 out of 2 so far 'aint bad) but he has to get rid of his off field issues and demons FIRST.
Let's hope this latest court case goes away and so does Ms. Bootylicious. We need our boy's head in the game. |

Re: Reggie Bush, the FUTURE?
I have to go with mayabe, and I'm closer to "no" than yes, based on what he has done in his two years so far. He has been far from dominating especially as a running back. We have yet to see his explosiveness (at least not consistently). He has career averages of 3.7 Yds/rush and 7.2 yds/catch (only 5.7 yds/catch last year). He has basically been Aaron Stecker/ Kevin Faulk with more hype (except if you're honest with yourself Stecker is the better rusher). I hope Reggie will rise up to the hype but if we continue to use him as a running back, he never will. We need to play to his strengths, which means we can't keep trying to force him running up the middle over and over. He is a scat back and can be great if we use him like one. I believe that Reggie being great or not relies more on Payton than it does with Reggie

Re: Reggie Bush, the FUTURE?
I have no doubt Reggie has the ability to be what he's been hyped to be. I think it's totally under his control. What I question, rather, is his raw desire, his drive, his ambition to achieve it.
If he continues to let the distractions make the most of him - the commercials, the women, the glitz, the celebrity status, the free-floh-doh.... then he's doomed to underachieving. But if he focuses on football, and goes after it with his heart - then he'll be all we hope he'll be. The choice is up to him. It's totally on him. The sky's the limit - if he wants it bad enough. |
