Harrington released by Falcons....
Falcons released QB Joey Harrington.
The move clears $2.5 million in salary. Only the Falcons wanted Harrington last offseason, but he actually posted career highs in completion rate (61.8) and yards per attempt (6.4) before collapsing suddenly and losing his job to Chris Redman. Harrington could be a backup option in St. Louis, Minnesota, or Oakland. Atlanta has two QBs on its roster: Chris Redman and D.J. Shockley. Fantasy Football - news, projections, rankings, draft guide - Rotoworld.com Does the Saints explore this possibility? Hmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn He may not be as "gun shy" as Carr. Maybe a good backup for Brees...and still has a few miles left. |

As for his previous team...the Lions...not much better than the birds last year. |

I hear what you are saying, B-I. Back-ups are so hard to think about. The only time they even cross your mind is when the "Star" QB takes a good lick from a LB or DE and doesn't "POP" back up. Then, everyone starts sweating about the back-up.
Again, all I want, is what is best for the team to be successful. If JH is who the coach thinks is best, by all means. |

Me actually... I could see them waiting for Henne or Flacco in the second. I'm just not that sold on Ryan's talent. He definitely has a big arm and great build though... but so did Ryan Leaf.

Re: Harrington released by Falcons....
I would sweat a lot less with Harrington as a backup as opposed to Martin. Of course, I pray that we never NEED a backup QB.
*fervant prayers to sent to quarterbacking deity* I don't know enough about Palko... Harrington's not a bad QB, I think he's just had two crap teams to play for in the past couple of years. |
