With all the "funny money" contracts already having been doled out, and teams starting to sign "reasonable" or at least sensible deals to the remaining "second and third" tier players. With Duece still rehabing and his future up in the air, what about bringing in a back like jones at a "resonable' deal to compete for a starting job. I like PT and would love to see him utilized more, I don't have as much faith in stecker, I see him contributing more as a ST if he even makes the final roster. I still feel we could use more quality depth at the position, and if the price is right, why not give him a shot. For the record I see Bush not as a flex player, not a rb and not a wr and getting his touches each game, so I'm leaving him out of the discussion as to the rb "depth chart". Right now it's Duece, Stecker, and PT. While on the surface looks ok, i'd like a little more insurance, and bringing in another solid veteran back would allow me to breathe much easier going into the draft. I wouldn't be so worried that payton decides to draft another pittman, that can't make it out of camp.

You can't have enough RBs, last year proved that but I would rather wait for the draft. There are plenty of RBs in the draft that we could pick up in the later rounds. I think Jones would require too much money to be an insurance policy.

Re: julius jones
Jones is already supposedly in visits with the Lions and Titans this week. They haven't been too active with the FA market this season so expect them to make offers soon.
