New Orleans may consider Brunell a fallback if Trent Green signs with the Rams, which seems likely. He could back up Chris Redman or a rookie in Atlanta. Mark Brunell |

Re: Mark Brunell
we need some backup with experience. Right now, we have Palko, and that's it.

Re: Mark Brunell
All I'm saying is that if Trent Green and Mark Brunell are our only options as backups...i'd say don't bother with either...without Brees...we will surely lose the game...Palko can run things just as well as those two scrubs...everyone knows that we will just run the ball and try to dump off to Reggie...any backup can do that (big name or not)...bottom line...if Brees gets hurt (knock on wood) we are f&$#ed!
I'm just glad I don't have to watch Jamie Martin touch the football ever again for the Saints! |

Actually I think Harrington would be the right guy. Give him an opportunity to learn in a good system under and outstanding QB and offensive HC and I think he'll flourish. He's done fairly well on some pretty bad offenses the last few years (Faclons, Dolphins). Has the experience, is younger than either Green or Brunell, and has shown that he can actually still play. Re: Mark Brunell
I do not think Palko is ready to assume the 2nd string roll, I am fine with Brunell or Green. All things being equal, I would probably lean towards Brunell. There really aren't very many decent backup QB's on the market right now, could do much worse than either of these guys.

Brett Favre would be a great backup too!

Brunell is the better than Martin.
