Re: Grant/Smith....your thoughts?
If we can get a dominant DT that can play alongside Thomas/Young and rotate them in and out, I think that will open up the pass rush of the ends. If they plan to use the technique the Giants used by having three DE's on the field at the same time by moving Grant to tackle, it could be a huge headache for opposing offensive lines and QB's. I just want to see the D-line produce at a level that it takes pressure off the linebackers and D-backs. I'm tired of these piss-poor defenses we have had over the last several years.

Re: Grant/Smith....your thoughts?
Both are grossly over weight.
I believe Will Smith's days in NO are numbered... He's a good player, but we can upgrade. Grant is a better keep for the long haul only because he plays the run really well. We need more athletecism at the position, I don't think either has this. |

Re: Grant/Smith....your thoughts?
I am believing they were told to report heavier than normal. Sean would have been all over them other wise. Now with MLB addressed and probably OLB. Stopping the run, standing up the OL, will not be as important. Addition of an athletic DE was a great move on all fronts. Now add a DT and CB that can come up in run support and our DE will have to slim down and attack the QB. they are fine and smith knows the contract numbers he will be looking at. So all set up and done. Look for a DE/DT to be added to the mix to go next to grant when he shifts inside.
