Kentwan Balmer, DT
Jonathan Steward, RB Malcolm Kelly, WR Brohm, QB Take your pick of OL that are available. With the bodies and money invested in that secondary now, it makes no sense to draft a DB. You have to address the real problem with the D and that was getting a pass rush. With other problem areas on this team you can't pass up the other possibilities. |

Re: Mike Jenkins
You find QB and WR more of an area of need than CB?

I would hope everyone would agree that (among the many desirable qualities) you want in a football player on your team: driven - wants to play professional football above all things and willing to do whatever it takes to get there motivated - a self starter that seeks out the best opportunities and puts himself in a position to take advantage strong - comfortable under the spotlight and at ease under pressure I can't really think of a good reason to pick USF over over LSU (or Auburn for that matter) if your overriding goal in life is to play in the NFL. I don't know why the guy did it but it seems an odd choice, if the information about his potential scholarships is accurate. |

I'll give it to you Euphoria...you got some brass!
But no one in this forum or analysts conducting on-line mock drafts have the saints taking any of those guys with pick 10...you must have a direct line to the front office...thanks for the input |

Don't read too much in Jenkins' choice of schools. Southern Miss just signed a 5*. Playing time makes a difference. McNair pick Alcorn over some big time schools because they wanted him to convert.
I still like Leodis the best. Euph makes a good point. We've got a lot of $$ tied up in the CB position. They may very well address the position later in the draft where there are some very good picks. |

Re: Mike Jenkins
When it comes to the draft...I will bet that Rivers is our guy if he doesn't get drafted by Cincy...however..the flood gates open if he's gone because everyone and I mean everyone has a different opinion on who we should take as our second option...My hope is that Rivers is at 10...if not...I think our pick will be scrutinized all year by the fans because no one can come to a consensus on "the man" to take...i wish things would become clearer in the next 6 weeks leading up to draft day so there is no doubt who 10 will be.

Re: Mike Jenkins
I like Leodis McKelvin the best of all the corners. Besides....growing up with a name like "Leodis", you know he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Re: Mike Jenkins
I believe Rivers to is a good pick as well, but Pats may snag him if they don't snag a DT.
I seriously don't think we can use that pick on a CB with what we have invested so far. There are a lot of areas that we need to concern ourselves with. |

Re: Mike Jenkins
If the USC LB and DL are not there, they should take either Quinten Groves, Cromartie, and if Mendenhall is still there, I wouldn't be surprised given Deuces long road back. A good strong, power back could free up Bush and others and take a lot of pressure off of the Defense by simply moving the chains.

Re: Mike Jenkins
That isn't what I am saying at all.
What I am saying is that we aren't going to draft a CB at 10. You don't have to draft on areas of need. You can draft by BPA -(Best Player Available for you rookies). We have to much invested and enough roster spots at that position that it makes it nearly impossible to address that position at this point. If you want to draft based on area of need than that would be PASS RUSH! We need a blitz. PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE... force the other team to make mistakes. You let the QB sit in the pocket he'll find someone one open eventually. |
