The Browns gave 13 million dollars in guaranteed money to Anderson. He'll be there for the next 2 season at least while Quinn learns the ropes. Should Anderson falter or regress, they'll have Brady waiting in the wings. This is pretty much the same situation the Chargers had with Brees/Rivers. It's a good problem to have and both are very affordable for the Browns to keep both through the full length of their contracts.
I think the Falcons need to build their line first... which is more important than trading for a quarterback who'd get murdered his rookie and sophomore years hindering their development (example David Carr). They need to cross their fingers and hope Jake Long falls to 3 imo. Take a quarterback in the second round to develop or trade back late into the first and select whoever they feel is the second best quarterback in this draft. |
