Re: McAllister's deal proves there's no loyalty in NFL

Interesting points, around the board. What do you do with an aging player, who happens to be your all time leader in rushing yards, and the face of the franchise for the past 7 years? Nostalgia will certainly come into effect regarding a team, but that's ten years down the road. With the recent retirement of McNair, it makes me wonder if 7 years from now, the Titan organization would have regretted the way they ended their relationship with Steve.

In the past, contract renegotiations were cap driven, but we will not come close to hitting our cap this year, due to the elevated levels. We would need to bring on a couple of top rated players with new contracts, award Colston, Evans, Vilma, and Smith with new contracts, to come close. I applaud the financial savy of this front office, especially in how they structure new contracts. I just hope that they do not sacrifice the history of this organization at the expense of a few dollars that will most likely not be spent anyway.

The waiting drove me mad....
