Re: Saints will not draft a CB in the first round!!

This is posted just like that...take it how you want. I am not saying that will stay at 10...i dont know if they are going to stay there, move up or move down...and not once have my eyes seen the saints draft board. The reason for my post is simple:

-The Saints would love to get one of the DT's and that is no secret.
-If we are unable to move up and Rivers is there at 10, my BET is that he is the pick.
-In a worst case scenario, if all 3 are gone and the Saints cant find a partner to trade down with, the Saints will take an offensive player because that would be the highest ranked guys available.

Also, i would bet the farm that the Saints dont view CB as that high of need as some of the fans do. They are confident in MM's recovery. They like what they have seen in Randall Gay. The most talented CB they have on the roster is Usama Young and he should be further along in his development this year. And believe it or not, the FO really believes that David will be much better in year 2 than he was in year 1. So that gives you 4 solid CB's and 3 or them are under 26. Not to mention the fact that every CB in this draft has major issues.

-McKelvin----4 picks in 4 years????
-DRC---was not a shut down CB against weak competition and was at best a 3rd round pick before the offseason workouts.
Talib---to slow to play our style of defense.
Jenkins---Will not tackle and he has the mindset that he is a lot better than he really is and isnt exactly the most "coachable" guy out there.

I dont think that either of those 4 are worth the 10th pick of the draft and i would agree with the team if they went offense in the aforementioned scenario. Believe it if you want...it may not even matter if they are able to get one of the guys they really want. But i will tell you that my post is closer to the truth than any of the other speculation that has been brought up on this board.

It's all in the reflexes.
