Re: can meachem do it?

people tend to forget that if he would have stayed in school, he likely would be the top WR this year as he was only a jr when he came out..

Re: can meachem do it?

This is why I am so hopeful about Meachem. He impressed me so much in college, and against the toughest defenses in college sports. I just hope he proves his potential THIS YEAR!

He certainly has the talent and seems to be doing and saying the right things recently after getting out of the doghouse last year. As long as he plays within himself, I think he will do fine.

You have to be patient with WR's they typically take time to develop and need to get use to the speed of the NFL game. I see him contributing this year but he won't be on my radar to watch until next year.

Re: can meachem do it?

Does anybody remember any quotes from Payton about Meachem?
I for one would feel better about him if we at least knew how the team felt. Lack of any communication scares me, as if they do not want to admit a mistake yet. I hope it is the opposite, that they are going to unleash him under a veil of secrecy next year.

He might not take on an every down role on the outside but you should able to contribue frequently at different receiver slots on the field. I also like having a the prospects of an effective WR screen using Meachem.
