its a nice theory that we are building a super bowl team but does it really take that long? we need to pick it up if we're going to contend with the afc

our core of players is very young.. reggie, colston, will smith, vilma, brees, PT, etc.. are all very young and very good players.. we will have a very competitive team for the next 6-7 years if we keep our core players intact and add to that thru the draft which we have been doing a much better job of for the past few years since paytons arrival...

Three years of rebuilding and I have to give this club two thumbs up with their moves so far.

With any new coach you have to assume it's a 5 year plan. If at year 6 we are not close then it's time to move on. Until then, as stated, I am content with what we are doing and how we are addressing needs and problems in our game.

i disagree. with a new coach u give them 3 years. 3 years gives them time to see what they have(year 1) fix the mistakes (years 2 and 3) and fine tune the roster(year 3). looks like this is paytons 3rd year. hes been a great head coach for our team so far. i think with a 5 year plan as u propose we need to be an elite team. after 3 years u give a contract extension and pray that the consistancy and talent keep coming.

agreed. since the payton era started our team has leapfrogged from where we were. i still think getting rid of stallworth was a mistake because he would be a great compliment to colston right now. however most of the other offseason and pre-season moves have been essential to bringing our club into contention
