Wait O' Minute?
Wasnt Hartley missing gimmes in preseason??? No Freakin Way. Kickers are flaky, and the best way to choose kickers is to weed out the flaky ones first. If you're missing what amounts to an extra point, something's wrong upstairs-- dont blame the holder. Lets go with the kicker who hits consistenly within his range and gives us no surprises. Carney was nailing it from 53 yards during warmups yesterday. I watched. |

Re: Carney's last kicks?
Never thought I would say this but i want us to keep Carney. I like Hartley and all but Carney is getting it done so far, he's consistant and I liek that.

Re: Carney's last kicks?
either payton didnt trust carney's range or he was just super confident in his offense to get the short yardage on 4th down
either way carney didnt get an opportunity to show his worth.....hartley hasnt missed a field goal for us in the regular season |

Re: Carney's last kicks?
This scares me and this is going to be a tough one for Payton. Agree with Smashmouth. They let Carney go before and regretted it. Wish there could be another way out. I say we carry three and let the competion play out during live action before making this call. This could be done in three or four games. Place someone else on the practice squad for now.

Re: Carney's last kicks?
when does the suspension officially end? Don't we need to make a move one way or the other?

Re: Carney's last kicks?
Did we go for that 4th and 1 because we thought we could make it or because we didn't have confidence in Carney to make a 45 yarder.
If you can't trust a guy with a 45 yarder in the Dome, that how little can you trust him outside??? |

Re: Carney's last kicks?
I think it was more of Sean Payton trying to get the offense moving than not trusting Carney. Payton will learn that when in FG range with a defense playing great you should always go for the points.
