Bobby Hebert reaction to fumble. LOL!!! AWESOME!!!

This is why he is my 2nd favorite QB in Saints history. LOL!

Wow. This tells me things I didnt know.
I didnt know:

1. that commentators cheered and jumped around just like us.
2. that the WWL Booth is wide open like that, where regular people like you
and me could possibly throw beer at them.
3. that the WWL Booth is in a corner of the Dome. (its on the Claiborne side, right?)
4. I sorta already knew how much Hebert loves the Saints. Remember, right
after the USFL folded, he expressed how he grew up in Cut Off, and had
great interest in being a Saint.

5. I'm not sure if your avatar is the Olsen twins, but I hope they're 21 in
that pic, because there might be something wrong with me otherwise.

Yes a cool vid .... Also did not realize Hebert has the beginnings of a beer gut, BuddyD-esque almost. And Hebert sits behind a desk, sorta like a certain SKY Traffic reporter in the big H we all know and love!

How come Favre leaves GB and plays for Minny and he is public enemy #1 in GB, but Hebert can leave NO and play for the Falclowns and he is still loved in NO. I just don't get it...and he will never be the same in my head. I really use to like Bobby before he defected.

The NFL is a business and players have to go where the money is. The Falcons have always liked overpaying for the Saints' leftovers. Morten Andersen did the same thing and most Saints fans here still like him.
I know most of the people here don't feel too good about Joe Horn, even before he went to Atlanta, but I don't have any hard feelings toward him either.

The difference between Favre and Hebert is that Favre is a jackass. He signed with Minnesota out of spite more than just a paycheck. Can't fault a guy for just paying the bills though.

I don't know if you remember, but it appeared that Hebert sat-out because he got beat-out by of all people John Fourcade. He appeared to have an axe to grind with the Saints, as well.

I think his axe to grind was mostly with Mora for benching him. Now that Mora and the entire front office is gone, he's okay with the organization again.

So...by your own admission, it was kinda like, "If I can't play QB I'll take my ball and go home!" ??? And that's not as bad as Favre wanting revenge because he has proven to be one of the best QB's of all time and before he was done he was politely shown the door? Again...I just don't get it.

You do have a valid point. However, Hebert didn't announce his retirement and THEN sign with his former team's biggest rival. He was a free agent and the Falcons offered him the most money.

Remember...I use to really like Hebert. I thought he was a great game manager and very accurate short passer with a cannon for an arm when needed. However, the "flying off the field" incident kinda sealed the deal for me. Sorry, Bobby and Saints fans everywhere, but if Bobby was concerned about his legacy in Louisiana, he shoulda thought twice before he pulled that little routine, IMO.

That would have been better than to see Favre's name appear anywhere in this post. He is seen on all major sports networks, newspapers, Sears and Wrangler commercials, and I even saw him roofing a house the other day. The guy is like Kanye....everywhere and annoying. I just think you tried to flip the coin on this post because of your lust for Archie Manning.

First of all...one comment is a post. The whole thing is a thread...I think. :)

I don't know what your angle is, but it has everything to do with my dislike for what Bobby Hebert did way back then and nothing to do with Brett Favre other than the fact that he did something very similar to what Bobby did and GB fans hate him, but yet Saints fans forgive Bobby. What part of that did you miss...and this thread is about Bobby so I gave my opinion on Mr. Hebert. If you would like, I will try to remember your username and never make comments to your posts if that would make you happy. Makes no difference to me...if you are going to try to control what these threads evolve into.

You are entitled to your opinion. Everyone is. I'm not controlling what people say. I just can't believe Brett Favre was even brought up in this "thread". Happy now? What he did is WORLDS different than what Hebert did. He kept screwing over the entire Packers organization with his indecisiveness. We could go at this all day long, but I don't have time to waste for your hatred for Hebert.

Thats right, and while you're at it, shut the
hell up when I'm driving!!!

I dont know, LB. I can divorce my ex-wife, and still like the kids and in-laws.
Heberts problem was with Mora, and the front office. I think he always loved
N.O, even though some of the fans were jerks to him from the stands, when he was a Saint. I remember him signing autographs and shaking hands with
Saints fans when he played for Atlanta, after the games. He grew up with the Saints, and of course, Louisiana was home. So I think the Falcons thing was business, and personal with his old bosses. Havent you ever had a boss
who you'd like to shove something down his throat? I could probably use a
million dollars too.

I understand you view, and think its kinda cool that you're passionate about it, esp. since it involves the Falcons. But I cant help but like Hebert, for his skills, his courage, and the way he just wanted to win so bad it hurt. Sometimes I think he wanted it TOO badly. Plus I like hearing him talk.

I think its pretty much the same thing with Favre. But, then I like Favre personally. I think he's done some dumbass things, but so do my kids. So
do I. I am just as annoyed as you by the media's extreme obsession with him, but its not HIS fault. They're a bunch of homos. I know. I work in media.

That's right. I'm just THHHSUPER. Thank you for asking.

Well, I probably could forgive him if it weren't for that dagger in our backs after the TD in Atlanta...but to take it a step further, and then I'll shut up on this topic forever...or until the next time...whichever comes first...his actions ultimately set this franchise back in a major way. When Mora decided that Fourcade wasn't the answer about 3 games into the season Bobby sat out, we gave up a ton to get Steve Walsh. I rest my case.

Amazing, freaking nola.com has this video posted on their website. It kind of surprises me that it's posted there because of the arm gestures. I think it's pretty darn funny, but this is not suitable material on nola. In here, great, no problem.

Re: Bobby Hebert reaction to fumble. LOL!!! AWESOME!!!

The reason Bobby Hebert left New Orleans was because of Jim Finks and Jim Mora. Mainly Finks. After that year long hold out, it was Tom Benson who told Finks to step aside on this one, Benson directly took over negotiations with Hebert and pulled the trigger on the million dollar contract that Finks was not willing to give. Hebert should also be credited with helping NFL players gain true free agency because of his actions back in the day.

I can't remember, but I think we gave up something like a #1 & #3 in '91 and a #2 in '92 that could become a #1...and I don't remember how that turned out.

When was the last time we've seen our defense play this kind of ball? I've got images stuck in my head of Fred Thomas' shoe strings being tied together...and JD stumbling and bumbling like a 3 year old...and Fred Taylor breaking 47 tackles and running off 220...This kind of defensive play can cover a multitude of our past faults. Keep it up...show it to me again against the NY football giants.
