Elephant vs. Wildcat?

Assuming that Fuji is injured, why not get McCray involved more this week as an OLB in our Elephant package? He brings a little more size and physicality at the point of attack, some better run support and doesn't sacrifice too much athleticism.

Obviously he can't cover pass catchers like Fuji can, but I think he could be a huge asset in stopping the wildcat.

Is that so crazy?

I'd like to see what Cassillas can do.

Re: Elephant vs. Wildcat?

McCray is good with a pass rush, but he tends to overrun the ball carrier on run plays. I don't know what if playing him against the Wildcat would be the best of options, but I'm sure he'll see the field a lot more if Fujita doesn't play.

Re: Elephant vs. Wildcat?

i would run as many defensive linemen against the wildcat as possible.....maybe a 5-2 with sharper and harper brought up into the box

mccray would be great outside of charles grant...that way mccray could get containment for the end around and grant could eat up the middle so ronnie brown doesnt cut it off tackle

Re: Elephant vs. Wildcat?

I don't think its a matter of moving players around but putting players in positions to make plays. Look for Sharper in the box A LOT!!!
I think there is going to be a lot of players on the line creating 4-4 D, 5-2, 6-1, and 7 or 8 on the line even.
