I\'m trying to have faith in Haslett. He has increased the talent level of the team big time! He inherited a team from Ditka that was really \"tough\", but not talented at all. The D hasn\'t been inpressive yet, but all of that can\'t go on Venturi. The tackling of the defense has been worse than what you\'d see at a high school game. I know that there\'s alot of new guys that need to get on the same page and they\'ll probably improve dramatically. One things for sure, this defense is definitely as fast as advertised. I\'m looking forward to a great season and a trip to the playoffs!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Clemmons speaks
Clemons is downplaying Sunday\'s trip to New Orleans, where the Texans face a tough matchup with his former team, but he no doubt wants to show the Saints they made a mistake when they changed his role in the defense in 2002 and cut ties with him after the season. While playing for former Saints defensive coordinator Ron Zook, Clemons had the best year of his career in 2001. But when Zook left to replace Steve Spurrier as the head coach at the University of Florida, Rick Venturi was elevated to defensive coordinator. The Saints\' defensive philosophy changed, and Clemens\' production diminished. \"Venturi is the type of guy who likes to play a lot of Cover 2,\" Clemons said. \"He\'s not as aggressive as far as calling a lot of blitzes. Zook pins his ears back, and he just goes. Venturi likes to cover first, and in other situations he likes to blitz. I controlled everything with Zook. Venturi called most of the things that were not complementary to my ability. You know how it is. Things can change.\" Things changed so much that a season after finishing with the fourth-highest sack total in the NFL, Clemons found himself looking for another job. He signed a four-year contract with the Texans in April and hasn\'t looked back. \"I know the nature of this business,\" Clemons said. \"I could have had a great year last year and still been in this situation. This whole thing is a business. You never know how important you are to an organization until you\'re gone. You have to move on. I\'m with a new family. I\'ve embraced this like I\'ve been here all of my life. This is a great organization that puts its best foot forward trying to win. We\'ve got some guys who really want to win.\" |

3-13 Haz is fired and we FINALLY get a coach who is more worried about execution and wins rather than writing inane little notes in his notebook all game. No, Haz may be a good head coach one day, but it won\'t be here.

ESPN Writer
Indianapolis (-2) over NEW ORLEANS One of my NFL gambling traditions: Inexplicably liking a team too much before the season, then begrudgingly sticking by them until they\'ve emptied my bank account. Well, I\'m not allowing the Saints to bleed me to death. I\'m abandoning ship. This team is a nightmare -- crummy coaching, shoddy decisions, tons of mistakes ... they bring everything to the table. Just a dumb team. I want a divorce. (What does Jim Haslett have to do to get fired, by the way? Show up late for a game? Take off his pants in the fourth quarter? Call five consecutive fake punt plays? Have three of his his players get arrested in one week? Seriously, I want to know.) |

Who topped this thread?? It\'s painful looking at it every day !! None the less, I\'m going to say at 1-3 that Haz and company will turn it around. Hey, I\'m in it neck deep, so I really don\'t have much to lose....
