WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I'm still shaking, really. WOW.
Marc, was Ed there? I talked to Mike a few minutes ago...Drew was working until 5:30, and was only minutes from the house, so we stayed here rather than miss the first quarter driving to Woodrows. I'm sure this was a pretty emotional game for him...it was for me. I sobbed like a baby. I still cannot believe it...WOW. |

WHODAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, about the upcoming trip... We are going, OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Superdome is too exhausted after last night's trip to SAT and then back to HOU a few hours later (had to bring me back -details later...), which is probably why he hasn't checked with you all yet... but WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I said last night at the game, short of my successful move to the US years ago, I don't remember the last time I was so emotional and happy for the person I love... and for the entire WHODAT NATION, which now includes me too. Mike, I totally see now why and how you converted years ago... Who wouldn't with THIS kind of faith and karma, all in one??? I had to pull some heavy praying in the few last minutes of the game... and I am not even good at it... but it worked!! At least I believe it did! Mark is right... Last night was so much more special because of NOLA/SAINTS tunes that Superdome so skillfully played for all WHODATS there... DarlinK, you are awesome! I love you... and I loved how SAINTS fought last night for the Superbowl! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4EVERWHODAT PS I decided to adopt Shockey and quickly... the season is almost over... in case he decides to visit Vegas again, he needs my loving care on how and where to drink ... and what... plus who else feels so happy for him when he scores? His real Mom doesn't count - she is suppossed to! |

Re: Houston & SE TX Saints Fans Unite! Speak Up!
ok, we're back... im gonna write in "new times teenager" because i have so much to catch up on, so damn puncutation/captization etc.
got back last night... took our time, and did some shopping, and ate a damn good meal in henderson just past the basin bridge. took the scenic route heading there, thru crowley, kaplan, abbeville... what a great drive, and i never really got a good look at avery island, so we went. never stopped in morgan city before, so we got off the road, and had a drink with some regulars on "skid row" as they called it. ate mediocre food in vacherie, and stayed at oak alley... just a perfect weekend. this is my first time online since friday. saturday was almost normal in the quarter. random parades for no reason, everybody decked out--- nothing was blowing up yet. you saw the game, so I'll just tell you I didnt really get worried till about 5 min left in the 4th, just because I didnt want to blow it. i told casey if the vikings get inside the 40, we lose. and sure enough they got there... so i was just thinking about all the things i am thankful for, and reasons to be happy. then farve brain-favred, but i still didnt feel good about OT. then we got close, but all i could think was that hartley chokes. then he lines up, and im thinking, if we dont hit this, we're gonna lose, but it didnt occur to me we could win (i know the rules) but that didnt sink in.... as the ball crossed in slow motion, i didnt really trust my eyes, but the crowd shrieked like the beatles just walked in and then the confetti went off, and i couldnt speak .... i just did the "here she is---miss america" face. embarresed a little, then noticed other dudes crying.... they didnt even try to keep people off poydras... illegal fireworks were going off from the tailgate areas... the walk back was unbelieveable... sirens and lights and people hugging and going into the street to high five drivers. bourbon street was impassible, unless you were 20 and had stilts. neither describes me. other FQ streets were nearly as crazy... dauphine, iberville, it didnt matter same story--- cars gridlocked, but happy, everybody's honking and hollering. sirens kept going.... lights kept flashing... you know, i want to be respectful here, but it kind of looked like a disaster, except everybody was happy. i didnt see anybody fighting, or even talking much ****. nothing was torn up or burned. the worst thing i saw was horribly dressed young girls in poor physical shape dancing equally horribly, and hopefully their family will never know. im disappointed we couldnt stay awake longer, but at 2am, we had a nightcap in the bar, hugged more crying men and their wives, and turned in. the streets were still honking and who-dating, and i went onto poydras one more time, just to make people honk and yell some more, before succumbing to exhaustion. local tv was still All Saints All the Time. I got up at 5:30 to call my replacement at work friend, and to grab some times picayunnes.... somebody please put an extra 150 in a TP dispenser, and I'll pay you back. I owe them. sorry, meant to do that on the way out. cant wait to see everybody. lets find a way to get together and celebrate. thanks for keeping this thread alive. |
