Don's Crystal Ball Midseason Analysis

I'm not saying who will win the award... i'm saying who makes the biggest difference in a defense and played at a high level and even if he hs only played 4 games, it's how weak the pittsburgh defense was when he was out they lost 2 games in the 4th quarter because they couldn't stop the other team and with him they are dominant defense again and have close 2 games in the 4th with him in it... So for what he brins and the level of play he has yeas he's the best right now

even tho the team is better with him, it doesnt make him the MVP as you can see because the teams that they beat with him also dont have very good offenses

tennessee is 2-6 with the 20th ranked offense W

Chicago is 4-5 with the 18th ranked offense L

Cincy is 6-2 with the 12th ranked offense L

Chargers are 5-3 with the 17th ranked offense W

Detroit is 1-7 with the 25th ranked offense W

Brownies are 1-7 with the 31st ranked offense W

Vikings are 7-1 with the 11th ranked offense W

Broncos are 6-2 with the 19th ranked offense W

the average offense of the teams they've played with troy is 20.25

the average offense of the teams they've played w/out him is 18

the offenses they played against when he was out were better than the offenses they played against when he was in

the stats are skewed because the teams they played without him were already going to move the ball regardless of how well he played...and the offenses they played while he was in like detroit and cleveland sure as hell werent going to move the ball whether troy was in there or not

and maybe lets not just look at sharpers interceptions.....but where is he getting these picks? IN THE REDZONE......he is playing his best when it counts the most.....the other team drives the field and sharper completely demoralizes them when they get in the redzone by giving the ball back to the saints offense

i understand holding on to your picks and not wanting to change them, but there is absolutely no reason to have troy picked over sharper

not record, not stats, not power rankings, not offenses they've played against

nothing says troy is more valuable than sharper

saints are a losing franchise without sharper....they are undefeated with him

While we may disagree with some of your picks and comments, thanks for taking the time to bring em here and share them. It always brings up some interesting discussions.

As for Sharper and Polamalu debate, I think you take either one out and the defenses become drastically different. Neither team is as effective with a back up at their safety spots. Sharper's numbers have shown much more and with Polamalu having missed time already I can't see how Troy even compares with Darren if it is a debate between these two for most valuable this year to date.
