Don's Crystal Ball Midseason Analysis

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm not saying who will win the award... i'm saying who makes the biggest difference in a defense and played at a high level and even if he hs only played 4 games, it's how weak the pittsburgh defense was ...

So for what he brins and the level of play he has yeas he's the best right now

sharper 39 tackles
polamalu 19 tackles

Sharper 7 INTs
Polamalu 2 INTs

Sharper .5 sack
Polamalu 0 sack

Sharper 3 TDs
polamalu 0 TDs

nobody is arguing who is the better player......but who is more valuable to their team? darren sharper has almost single handidly turned our defense from the laughing stock to the top of the food chain

MVPs are most valuable player awards, not who has the highest madden rating bro

While we may disagree with some of your picks and comments, thanks for taking the time to bring em here and share them. It always brings up some interesting discussions.

As for Sharper and Polamalu debate, I think you take either one out and the defenses become drastically different. Neither team is as effective with a back up at their safety spots. Sharper's numbers have shown much more and with Polamalu having missed time already I can't see how Troy even compares with Darren if it is a debate between these two for most valuable this year to date.

I have to agree with most that Sharper is > than Paluasdfreuamsoiu.

But I do admire you courage of posting prior to the first game kickoff. Kudos Don.

ok first troy has 3 int.... then what I'm calling is how differnet the team is with him in it than with out him.

Here we go

Pittsburgh with troy and with out troy

With Troy

Record 4-0
Points Allowed: 11 avrg (44)
Pass Yards: 852 (213 avrg)
Rush Yards: 293 (73.2 Avrg)
3rd Down conv: 23/58 (39%)
Int: 7
FF: 5
Sacks: 9
TD Off: 3
TD Def: 3

Without Troy

Record 2-2
Points Allowed: 22 avrg (88)
Pass Yards: 864 (216 avrg)
Rush Yards: 270 (67.5 Avrg)
3rd Down conv: 24/48 (50%)
Int: 1
FF: 4
Sacks: 14
TD Off: 9
TD Def: 0

Äs you guys see it's even if the yards are similar the biggest diference is in Takeaways, points allowed, 3rd down conversion, how many TD the defense allows and how many TD the Defense makes.
