True, its more of a commitment to the run game moreso than an improvement.
Last 8 games of 2008... 192 att, 884 yards, 4.6 yards per carry, 24 attempts per game First 8 games of 2009 259 att, 1157 yards, 4.5 yards per carry, 32.4 attempts per game. Its the amount we're running thats the big difference, not so much the improvement. On defense its the turnovers that are making the difference. Our stats don't look much different at 1st glance. In 2008, we gave up 339 yards per game (221 Pass/117 run) In 2009, we give up 332 yards per game (219 Pass/112 run) |

I agree.
Its the biggest difference the way the D is performing, able to get stops get up 21 points and as soon as the Saints start running the ball more its like a dagger and just more noticable is all. I am not convinced we are a better running team because during short yardage we still don't have that punch. |
