Bush draws Payton's ire again

Reggie Bush returned to the field last Sunday against the Redskins, but he didn't stay on it for long.

Saints coach Sean Payton "clearly grew frustrated" with Bush at the end of the first half, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Bush annoyed his coach because of two specfic plays, then didn't take a snap again until the final 30 seconds of regulation.

Play one: Bush casually steps out of bounds a yard short of a first down. (He and Roy Williams may lead the league in premature sideline.) The Saints wound up having to punt when Bush was stuffed in the backfield on third-and-one.

Play two: Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo blows up Bush, knocking him off his feet, as he attempts to go out for a screen pass.

At that point, Payton removed Bush from the game and spoke to his "emotional" player on the sideline. It's not the first time this has happened this season.

Bush was only scheduled to get 20 snaps and he had ten in the first half, so his "benching" didn't have a major impact. But it's a reminder that Bush sometimes gets in the way of the Saints offense.

Bush is a replaceable part, like most of his offensive teammates not named Brees and Colston.

But the former second overall pick is a replaceable part due $8 million in 2010. That's why we suspect Payton won't be having sideline chats with him next season.

Re: Bush draws Payton's ire again

This was my thinking after the Pats game. Sometimes it seems, for reggie to get his
touches, the offense stagnates. We will be moving the ball well, and then he does one
of his dance moves on a run, gets tackled for a loss, and the next thing u know, we are third and 12, instead of
third and 1. His star power, should not dictate play calls. If he is not cutting it, get him
off the field. I'm sorry, but I don't see him here next season. There are a lot of "dynamic"
Rbs coming out in the draft, that won't cost us 10 million dollars next year.

HAHAHAHAHA... I know wut ya meen, lmao!!!

Me, personaly, YES... As hard as it is for me to say it, it's true. Ive tried over & over the past 2 year's to build a case & defend Bush, but enough's, enough, bottom line.
It's NOT worth it, having to watch 8Mil$ run sideway's & backwards & NOT give it 100% at all times. Too damn worried about his pretty face & Kim.

YES, we all know wut will happen once he's on another team, lol. Not only will he go to the Pro Bowl, but when we play against him & his new team, he will F#@k over us, lol, happen's every time, lol!!!

Oh Well , gotta do wut we gotta do... The way i see it though, we could get an "All Pro DL to line up next to Elis... Then get ourselves a top notch LB in the 1st Rd... Wut yall think???

Re: Bush draws Payton's ire again

This quote says it all:

But it's a reminder that Bush sometimes gets in the way of the Saints offense.
You really have to see a game in person and keep your eye on Bush to understand just how NOT into it Bush looks sometimes.

Is he trying too hard?
Does he not trust his instincts?
Not smart enough?
Scared?

It's one game back from the injury. His one punt return did look pretty bad. Hopefully this will motivate him and he will be back playing like he did pre-injury.

RealDeal37.... Sound like a plan.. I say we get him off our books and go for some talent on the defensive side of the ball... We'll be a better team for it next season I believe....
