What is misunderstood is that when he stepped out of bounds after making 9 yards Payton wasn't mad apparently. In fact, Bush was in the play after that. And if the Saints can't make a first down after a 2nd & 1 then shame on them.

Now I did see Payton get upset at Bush when he blocked during what should have been a screen to him. He must have missed the call in the huddle on that play and it also resulted in an illegal lineman downfield. Which then led to the famous Meachem TD. Which in fact was a horrible Brees decision to even throw that ball.

So Bush made a mistake then Brees made a mistake.

This thread is about Bush, not Brees. But since you bring it up Brees can win games for us week in and week out Bush... nada.

I don't think he was made at Bush either at that point but it all added up and its funny how he got lots of bench time after... hmmmm.

Possibly. But he was only predicted to play 10 to 15 plays in the game anyway. I'm not defending Bush really just saying I don't think that his run out of bounds was a bad play. It was 2:05 left in the half and it looked like Bush thought he had the first down since he was yapping at the ref afterwards. Maybe he was just trying to stop the clock before the 2 minute warning to get another play off and thought that the ball was past the first down marker. Even though 9 yards on the play and then a run out of bounds to stop the clock is still not a bad play anyway.

You sure Bush can't win games? Maybe not week in and week out but he sure can make winning games fun.

YouTube- Reggie Bush's First NFL Touchdown
He really hasn't. He hasn't put this team on his back and said I got this and wins a game. He's been on the sidelines when the game is on the line more times than not.

Re: Bush draws Payton's ire again

What is this mans problem ? I am almost on the bust wagon for him. For sure he does not have the power to break tackles and seems he does not understand angles and is not really elusive. His days are numbered here for sure unless Payton has a magical role for him that I have not seen. The Saints are getting very little production wise from him and his numbers are going to help him hit the road looking for a paycheck.

just so you know, i can't recall a game i've missed since they came out with the vcr.

now, if you understood football better, you would see why the saints strive for offensive balance, and why players have different roles according to their strengths. i swear you only repeat stuff you hear on pregame shows.
