December 09, 2009, 3:42PM Cornerback Jabari Greer was held out of practice Wednesday and doesn't seem likely to return to action this week at Atlanta. Although Greer practiced on a limited basis the last two weeks, General Manager Mickey Loomis told Sirius Satellite Radio that Greer will miss a couple more weeks. And Coach Sean Payton revealed Wednesday that Greer is dealing with both groin and abdomen injuries. "Here's the thing, there's two aspects to the groin," Payton said. "There's the groin and the abdomen area. And so one aspect he's getting better, and the other we're still working on with the rehab." Also missing practice Wednesday were cornerback Tracy Porter (knee), linebacker Scott Fujita (knee) and linebacker Marvin Mitchell (hamstring). They are all expected to miss Sunday's game as well. Fourteen players were limited in Wednesday's practice -- including receiver Lance Moore, who could be close to returning after missing the last five games with ankle and hamstring injuries, and cornerback Randall Gay, who missed last Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. The others were: tailback Reggie Bush (knee), tailback Pierre Thomas (quad), tailback Mike Bell (knee), tailback Lynell Hamilton (shoulder), offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod (thumb), guard Jahri Evans (toe), center Jonathan Goodwin (ankle), tight end Darnell Dinkins (foot), defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis (knee), defensive end Bobby McCray (knee), linebacker Jonathan Vilma (knee) and safety Usama Young (hip/calf). |

Re: New Report: Greer to Miss Next 2 Weeks
SO our 2 toughest games will be played with the same secondary as last week, minus McAllister.
We may get by the Falcons with Ryan and Turner being doubtful, but the Cowboys game gives me a little concern. Despite the Cowboy's December record they have a good enough offense to put up points. Really hope we can man up for the next 2 weeks. |

I thought they were pushing him too hard to come back. Groin injuries in particular are slow to heal. I say save them for the playoffs if you can.

Many of those injuries seem to be minor ... We should be fine against the Falclowns.

I see wut ur say'n & YES they are the best equipted team to even have a chance with us, but besides it being in the DOME, they are far too unstable & still don't know who's wut, or when & where at this time. They have talent & alot of it at that, but until they can start to gel as a team & bond as a family, for example, like the SAINT'z do, then there gonna continue to have issues & that's that!!! Call me CRAZY, lmao... I'd be far more worried about a game againt's the Falcon's & C. Redman at QB, Turner(out), Jenkin's(out), Norwood(out) & WUTEVER that WR's name is, my mind has gone conpletely blank, lol... Sorry, but yall get the picture here & understand were im coming from... Rather than Cowgal'z & Homo at QB & every other one of there starter's ready to go & injury free, i meen that... Just being honest & anyone who know's these team's well & understand's our/there PAST!!! SAINT'z will be fine & i have all the FAITH in the world, that they WILL run this thing all the way to tha TOP. Ive been a SAINT'z (Diehard) every since ive known what football was. Being in my family, WELL, it's NOT like u really have much of a choice, lol, but im GRATEFUL!!! |
