The answer, I believe, is both. You dont want to pull a "Colts," and quit playing at week 13, but I think you pull Brees out at least by halftime at Carolina. What makes yall so sure our backups cant win? They almost beat the Panthers in '06.
If we win the last game we play this year, you will be very happy. |

Ideal would be to build up a big lead, pull Brees and then...
Brunell handoff to Hamilton for 4 yards, over and over and over. |

Re: Vikings are the 16-0 season's best friend
I think you guy's gusto for the perfect season is blinding you to the fact that we have the second oldest roster in the league, our bye week was all the way back in week 4, our defense, once ranked in the top ten has slid all the way into the low 20's. Sharper appears to be playing slower than early this year.
I'm sorry but these guys need a break after they wrap up HFA. Never thought I'd be the voice of reason on this board. |

Re: Vikings are the 16-0 season's best friend
True, but where does rest end and rust begin???
The players already have another BYE coming up. The Colts have been killed by this many times in the past, although they usually rested more than 1 regular season game... |

Re: Vikings are the 16-0 season's best friend
Hey, only the 49ers are lower than the Vikings on my list of NFL teams.
I remember the end of the 1987 and 2000 seasons all too well to ever like them. My point was that them winning almost forces us to try to go 15-0, and after that, I think "why not" on going for 16-0. |

But on the road, in the elements against a the most RUN heavy team in the league is just a recipe for disaster in my mind. Starters should sit if HFA is wrapped up and Im not backing down from that stance.

You know who we should be scared of? Arizona. I think we match up well vs. the Vikes, but I think the Cardinals are starting to click, and could really give us a lot of trouble. |

Yep, we have to go balls out the rest of the way because home field advantage would pave the way to Miami. We have the best home field advantage in the NFL, who is gonna come into The Dome and beat this team in the playoffs?

Arizona, correction, Kurt Warner, is perfect on the road, up til tonight. Arizona is no joke, when it comes to road games. Lets also not forget, that they've been here before. Not to mention Philly is starting to click as well. Here's a bit of advice, I gave myself a long time ago, NEVER take anything for granted, when it comes to the play offs. Every team that makes it, deserves to be there, and anyone of them can kick your arse, on any given week. The superbowl is the most important thing. All other things take the backseat. Whatever it takes to get there, I'm all for.
