I'm not sold on Jenkins becoming a safety. There's a reason that college QB's avoided throwing in his area.
So he didn't become the best CB in in the NFL in his first season. CB is the hardest position on defense to play. I think that he's smart and will grow to be a good CB in the future.

Are you blaming the defense as well for Devery dropping that ball in the endzone?

Maybe you don't get this, but if my defense is pitching 3-and-outs every series, I start calling my offense more agressively, which is what the Cowboys did. after the first 2 series, the defense pretty much held the Cowboys, and started getting to Romo, but the Saints offense kept on going 3-and-out and turning the ball over.

I am not saying the defense played outstanding, but the offense was pathetic. The Saints offense scored 17 points and turned the ball over 3 times.

No, I am blaming them for spotting 14 early points to the boys, in the first quarter, when they were playing so far off the line of scrimmage, that Sir Saint could have ran a few slants through there.

I agree that the whole team sucked as a group, but I just feel the defense stunk the worst. We make excuses for these guys every week. Injuries, he's a rookie, it's his first game back. Sounds like my mom, talking about my nephew, when he gets into trouble. :)

And just to drive it home here, I have been on the defense for the past month and a half. This is NOT the first time I have said something about it.
Go back and check my posts, or responses, and show me where I've been over praising this team at any point. Haven't done it.

I don't care what you posted before. Whatever you posted before has nothing to do with the comment you are making right now on this game.

Let me ask you this,:you are saying the Saints defense "spotted" the Cowboys 14 points. Did the Cowboys recover 2 straight onside kicks?

Because I seem to remember the Saints getting the ball first and the Saints offense, the highest scoring offense in the league, going 3-and out, then in the next possession go 3-and-out again, then in the next possession but for a Reggie 29 yard run, go 3-and-out again. I saw the highest scoring offense score 3 points in 3+ quarters.

I also saw the Saints offense give away the ball 3 times, once inside the Saints 30, and drop passes in the endzone.

I also saw a coach who refused to leave someone in the backfield to help protect the QB.

I also saw a defense on the field for almost 40 minutes.

But anyway, what do I care what you think.

Late to the discussion, but Jenkins was no worse than any other player on defense Saturday night.

To compare him to Jason David is quite a stretch. They are nothing alike.

The most intelligent thing I've seen you post.

Jason David had really good speed, Jenkins has average speed

Jason David was not a physical CB, Malcolm is a big physical CB.

Jason David bit on double moves for 4 straight seasons, Malcolm is a rookie who should get better with time.

Jenkins can play two positions.

Gregg Williams drafted Jenkins.

Re: Malcolm Jenkins=Jason David

Maybe Ive been watching football "wrong" for the past twenty years. Is the offense supposed to stop the other team from scoring, or is it the defense? Is it the defense that's supposed to guard their end of the field, even if they are put in bad field position by a turnover? Or the offense? Blame goes every which a way, on this game, and no one did their job on either side of the field. I have my opinion, and I'm keeping it. Defense plays better, doesn't give up all of those long passes to Austin, and who knows.
