Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
I lose more, and more respect for the media, every year. These guys were everyone, sitting on top of our n#ts, for the first 13 weeks of the season. We lose to the cowboys, and it's every man or woman for themselves. They call themselves "sports experts", and ninety percent of the time they are wrong. They should stick to reporting the FACTS, and leave the speculation to Madame Cleo. I've watched football, pretty much my entire life. Does that make me an expert? Hell no. The difference between me and them is, that I know it, and acknowledge it. Get an honest job you bums.

Thats typical media for you. And if a team that gets no love from the media ends up winning it all they say this team had it in them all along and more BS. Thats why fans make sports better. Not the media

I truly agree with you both. When we played the eagles no one thought we would win, then when we did it was because McNabb was not playing, then we played the Giants and again the same thing and again there was a reason we won, not because we were better but because someone was not playing that would have helped beat us. Then the big game against the Pats, hmmmmm again we won and big and now according to most media outlets we were just lucky. I wonder what they would say when not IF but WHEN we win the SB.

Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
I don't see anything wrong with what Whitlock said or his rankings. He's saying the NFC is unpredictable and it could be anyone's game. He's rooting for the Eagles, whom he picked prior to the season. What's wrong with that?
As far as the rankings are concerned, if he had his top 5 that way, I don't have a problem with it. Peyton hands down is probably everyone's top pick. This league is all about "what have you done for me lately"... Rivers and Johnson have been tearing it up while Drew has been a little slump. I don't see why anyone would see that as a slap in the face towards Drew and Saints fans. Would it make that big of a difference if he was ranked 2nd or 3rd as opposed to 4th? There's no consolation prize. I don't see why there needs to be drama over this. |

No drama here, its just about respect and the lack of respect that the Saints get. I will admit that for years we didn't deserve it but to say he never believed in the Saints even after going 13-0 are you kidding me?

Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
I like Whitlock as a person, but he, of course, is often hugely full O Crap. He does say things and ask questions that question the politically correct, (those who follow him know what I'm talking about) and he even admits to liking Brett Favre, which takes courage these days. I dont think he goes where he goes for shock value. I even wrote him a tough, but civil email once, when he said Katrina would not make the Saints "interesting." He ate those words. But he doesnt deserve the insane hate he gets in the comments section. I'd have a beer with him. ...and argue for hours.
1. He's crying about the late NFL season. Its simple-- whoever wins the most gets to do whatever they want. Whoever wins is declared the winner, and then goes on to play more winners, who play on the field to determine a champion. Unlike college ball, which is exciting and colorful, but insists on showing me the Muffler Bowl featuring Barbazon School of Modeling vs. Diesel Driving Academy, who compiled a perfect 10-0 record, but cant get recognized. DDA is favored to beat BSM, whom Texas also played and beat 94-0. A computer decides the champion-- yay! 2. Drew brees behind Philip Rivers??? astronomically possible. Chris Johnson? no way in hell. |

Just like when Arizona beat the holy heck outta Minnesota, the next day, "the team to beat in the NFC is Arizona, hands down!" Until they lost to San Francisco, the very next week, then all the sudden, "they are in trouble".
I just think alot of this analysis is not only a bag of crap, but completely unnecessary. That's why I have stopped watching ESPN as much, and turned to NFL Network. They do analysis, but they keep it within reason. |
