Pierre Thomas , fractured ribs

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; bad news is that Bell didn't do much against Carolina- not sure why Reggie only had 5 carries when he had two long runs. I gues SP believes in a lot of rest (see below) PT says he'll be 90% ...

Re: Pierre Thomas , fractured ribs

My dad broke 2 ribs in a motorcycle accident a few years back and it took him a while to heal up then again he didn't have a flap jacket or the use of cortizone to jack him up before games so right now I'd say that Thomas is going to be a game time decision

I wish our opponents has 250 lb line men lol.

The way isee it is he has two choices once he has the ball. Get hit and feel the pain or RUN LIKE HELL for the Endzone and try not to get touched.

I know I would prefer the latter of the two.

Re: Pierre Thomas , fractured ribs

Seriously? My mom has screamed at me for playing Rugby with broken ribs saying they could puncture my lungs.(but it was a huge Rugby playoff game back in college) But it didn't happen and I played the rest of the playoffs with cracked ribs...tape them up and throw him back in the game I always say. Of course when I started playing if you could knock one of their players out of the game then they only had 14 players. You watch he'll probably have a great game.

Could the severity of his injury just be window dressing for the opposition?

Absolutely, but not sure how you can fake the severity of fractured ribs. I believe he will play. He has enough time to heal because it happened against Tampa. I mean isn't that 3-4 weeks of rest. He'll go. I think it is even tougher as a QB, as far as playing effectively. I just feel bad for what he will deal with afterward. How can anyone say they don't deserve the money- good God the pain.

I think Bush will have a nice playoff, and I think PT will go, and LH will help too. With our corners healthy- hopefully MJ will get back to playing good on ST, another big help. Man, I really think we are going to shock someone with how bad we beat them

Oh and BTW look at the Pack schedule recently- just like the Eagles- their wins are a lot of hype (IMHO). Dallas is our stiffest comp, and that is if the Eagles don't go down and beat them. I don't think they will cause their D isn't good enough, but they might. Oh and BTW- blitz Romo Mr. Williams.

Your team stinks

Re: Pierre Thomas , fractured ribs

Boy we need Thomas to be the X factor here and I hope he can help. Hard to imagine him lasting having to carry the load because the hitting and intensity will be off the charts. Going in limited is not going to help him. I hope there is some smoke here but if anything I would think this is best case and that he may have a bit of a limited roll and revert more too coming out of the backfield and being more active in the short passing game. This guy is tough though so I think he will test himself early. I would hope that Bell and Bush could make it a bit easier and mix it by getting on a hot streak early on.
