peyton manning
brett favre
philip rivers
chris johnson

all had good seasons......all could've been MVPs in another year

however.....no team took a franchise that is one of the worst in any sport ever to a nearly undefeated season.....none of them led the league in TDs or passer rating

in fact....peyton manning didnt lead the league in any significant individual category......brett favre has the least INTs of any player eligible for MVP which in itself is a huge accomplishment for him...but nobody else on that list has the defense or running game that he has

rivers is a stud......hes going to be a star, but he just didnt do as well as brees this season and thats not a knock, just a compliment to how good drew did

chris johnson had a year that rivals some of the all time greats.....but his team didnt make the playoffs

the only one on that list capable of beating drew is manning, but the stats show that brees had a better year
for qbs u look at 5 major categories: completion pct, yards, tds, ints, qb rating, and 1 extra is they always take into consideration is how well their teams are doing. so its actually 6 things ppl look at when deciding the mvp.

PCT YARDS TDS INTS RATING
brees 70.6 4388 34 11 109.6
manning 68.8 4500 33 16 99.9
favre 68.4 4202 33 7 107.2
rivers 65.2 4254 28 9 104.4

yes brees led in 3 of the 5 categories, which no doubt speaks loudly for how great of a season he had, but the saints have slipped up at the end of the season and caused him to slip in the mvp running. manning had more yards of the qbs listed and only 1 td less than brees, and probably would have led his team to a perfect 16-0 regular season if he wasnt benched. favre's rating was jus below brees, 1 td less than brees, the least ints of any qb this year, and also gets bonus points jus because his name is BRETT FAVRE. and of course rivers had a good year also but hes behind statisically in almost all 5 categories, but hes in the discussion cuz hes led his team to 11 straight wins and a #2 seed in the afc. and he only threw 9 ints which is awesome

as for chris johnson, who had a record setting year with 2006 rushing yds and 503 recieving yds for a total of 2509 yds on offense, pretty much dug his team out of an 0-6 hole single handedly to finish 8-8.

this is why i cannot complain if brees doesnt win it, because u can make a legitiment argument for all 5 mvp canidates. VOTERS SEE THE SAINTS LOSING AND THEY THINK, HOW VALUABLE CAN BREES BE IF HIS TEAM IS LOSING OR SQUEEKING OUT WINS. THEY DONT TAKE TEAM INJURIES INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN MVP VOTING. of course id love nothin more tha to see brees win it because hes my boy and all, lol. i dont kno when the voting is, but if its after the SB, the mvp will probably go to which ever qb wins the SB, if at all any of them do win it.

The time has come! Who Dat
