Saints signed Paul Spicer again. Me wonders if we will ever see Grant in a Saints uni again.

Paul Spicer must be loving this. Signing with a team going into the playoffs that you have a good knowledge of the system must be sweet. I hope he stayed in shape, if so a fresh set of motivated legs could be real nice in the next few games.

NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints have placed Charles Grant on injured reserve and will have to make their playoff run without their starting defensive end.
NFC South blog

Yasinkas ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas writes about all things NFC South in his division blog.

• Blog network: NFL Nation

The Saints announced on Tuesday that Grant, who anchored the left side of the Saints line, has a triceps injury that will end the season for the eight-year veteran.

The 31-year-old Grant started every game this year and was credited with 53 tackles, 5½ sacks and a forced fumble.

In a related transaction, the Saints have re-signed veteran defensive end Paul Spicer.

The Saints (13-3), who have lost three in a row, has a first-round bye in the playoffs.

I'm sure they took a peek at him before they signed him.

Re: Grant out for season!

I actually think McCray is an upgrade on rushing downs. Getting pressure on the outside helps the D Tackles and linebackers fill holes better. A lot of pass rush heavy DEs in the league that stay in on run downs don't get credit for the help they give the interior D-line due to decline in stats.
