Blah Blah Blah
It's so typical of the sports media these days. I really don't remember the writers being this fickle twenty years ago. Now I'm reading things like ... "Cowboys most complete team in the NFC" and "even at 13-0 I knew the Saints weren't for real". Although I've searched back and sure people noted problems as early as the St. Louis game, but it's been a LONG time since anyone said the Saints weren't 'for real'.
Guys, take this for what it is; idle soap opera/reality show type speculation that dove tails nicely with the "three game slide" story. SP hasn't been taking to all of this garbage as he wisely sat the players that needed rest and will have the Saints healthier than they've been since early November. He said this. If you are coaching a team you don't read tea leaves, or rub rabbit's feet intensely or wear your lucky underwear to win. You make concrete decisions that make the best sense and produce actual, viable results that are easy to see. Can you imagine a head coach giving in to some of these writers and following some of the "advice" out there. How many people out there would let loose on SP if the Saints had won by three touchdowns but Brees, Meachum, Sharper, Bush or any number of starters was actually lost for the playoffs because of a freak injury in the Carolina game. Silly, stupid comments about no team ever winning after a three game skid in the regular season is just superstition. I'm feeling great about where the Saints are right now, I bet they are too. They know that a lot of faces that hadn't all been together for a while will bring down a can of whoop-ass on whoever comes out of the wild-card round this weekend. Payton has consistently made decisions based on logic and experience. I may not agree with everything I've ever seen him do but at least I know he isn't throwing salt over his shoulder or playing on a Ouija board to decide what he does next. Can't wait for the 16th!!! |

Well exactly, the 'boys were supposed to have all this December curse stuff and now all that is forgotten. Although I think you didn't get the point of my post.
All of the "three game losing streak" stuff will also be forgotten when the Saints are playing in Miami. |

Re: Blah Blah Blah
i think what's most important about the 16th, is that we'll be healthier than we've been in a very long time!

I just looked around the news sites, blogs and a few other teams forums. And you are correct. I must have missed something. Are we already out of the playoffs?
