Beanie has played well this year... the only thing that's plagued him this year is his inability to hold on to the football. You can't take those 20 yard runs away from him. Those 3 and 4 yard grinders eventually set up his long runs. Back in the day when Deuce was here, his constant pounding allowed him to break those long runs down the field. Also having a less than 4 YPC average does not make you a below average running back.
Jerome Bettis averaged 3.9 YPC for his career. I don't know if you have watched Jamal Charles play this year, but if you take away all those long runs he had, I guess that makes him a below average running back also... which is ridiculous. You can't fault him for consistently breaking long runs. |
