Re: First memory of being a saints fan
I really liked their hamburgers with that special sauce they put on them...ahhh, those were the good ol' days! Little Pig Bar-B-Q, Hover's Drug Store where I read my "Archie" comic books, the Curb-Mart where I got my half & half (cherry/cola) icee and the million dollar bar for a quarter, and then there was Burger King, (some called it the BK Lounge) where I had my office in high school. I know they still have Burger Kings...just not near the corner of Pass Rd. and Washington Ave. in Gulfport.

Re: First memory of being a saints fan
my memories of players is the same for most my age. i remember watching games when i was younger, but it wasnt until i was 8 or 9 that i remember details. I remember watching bobby and the mauling defense. i remember watching our lefty kicker made FG after FG after FG. i remember fred mcafee being a beast of a special teamer.
apparently when i was younger my dad took me to a few saints games, my first game was watching bradshaw play vs us, back in 82 or 83, but i dont recall it at all. one other strange thing i remember, is during the broadcast of the saints playoff game vs the vikings, i remember someone down on the sidelines with a meter that gave a noise reading. i remember seeing the little red line being maxed out on that meter and thinking that was pretty cool. i used to have that game on vhs, i wish i still had it. |

Re: First memory of being a saints fan
i remember a saints ticket was 8 dollars sit where you want. nobody went to the games so you could sit any where. i went bagless just to let you know. then i can recall where i was when tom demsey nailed the 63 yarder. we, me and my brothers ran out the house the minute it happened yelling at the top of our lungs, but what was crazy the whole neighbor hood was out side at the same time yelling , memories o memories

Re: First memory of being a saints fan
My family had season tickets when I was a little girl, and we'd sit on those wonderfully comfortable bleachers in the Tulane Stadium endzone, cheering for Kilmer and yelling back at the fans who were chanting "We want Hargett!". Good times...
