This was a smart move by the FO. If Deuce can rip off a couple of good runs the Saints will have picked up several momentum points. If, just if he could pound a few for us it would be fantastic....I still love the Deuce.

For my part, I'm going to enjoy my little fantasy time and not piss all over everyone else's.

In my fantasy, Deuce has a Mike McKenzie style comeback game. He gets a few carries, turns one or two into something really big and get's a score. The Dome needs repairs after the game because the sound damages the roof tiles. Saints win big from great play across the board, crowd energy the likes of which has only been seen once before, and karma.

if they wanted deuce on the team for the playoffs, why not sign him after week 16 when we had the bye locked up, and he had time to practice with the team and get into football shape. sorry im jus not as thrilled as the rest of u. but with a WIN tomorrow, all will be fine i guess

And actually we have 5 CBs on the roster since U. Young can play that position.

sorry, im an emotional guy. and this jus touched a soft spot. its jus doesnt make sense from a team stand point and i guess im the only one who sees it

You have that right to doubt this move but the key to this move that none of us really know is has Deuce been working out with the team for a while or not. Jeff Duncan said Deuce had been working out but for how long? I trust Deuce in the FB position more than I trust Eckle.

we get where ya coming from. But come on its Deuce. I think this is great, yeah it might send a bad message to the other players, maybe not. look at Brett, how many times did he come back.
THIS is DEUCE the Dome will come down on Sat. besides with fresh legs, he will be fine for a few plays here and there. He's not going to be used the whole game, all of us know that. HE can be used for the last three games and get a RING !

I'm betting Deuce has NOT been couch-sitting this season. Any player who thinks he might wanna continue playing is going to keep up some sort of workout regimine. And like someone else mentioned, who knows just how long he has been working out with the team??? I think Payton keeps a few card tricks up his sleeves for special times, and this, my friends, is a very special time! I think just having Deuce dressed out and on the field is going to be a HUGE emotional boost for both the team and the fans! Geaux Saints!

This is here say on what i just heard. They signed him for pass protection for Bress next week. That came from word of mouth from the times picayune. i have no idea how true that is.

It would make sense. Deuce was a good pass blocker and after watching P.T. pass blocking against Dallas....

Leisle WAS cut actually to open up the roster spot.

Deuce could step in and take a few extra plays so Thomas doesn't get the brunt of the hits on those healing ribs. But Deuce could also step in to a fullback position since it has been rather shallow since Evans went down early on.

He's been working out in the Saints camp for at least a week, maybe more. Sean has players he can sign working out until he needs them.

Lets say he doesn't play... what does it hurt having him there??? NOTHING. He takes a roster spot of someone who wouldn't play anyway.

I absolutely disagree if he plays FB. As a RB yeah- I think u r right, but ST or FB- I think he helps, KE hasn't been getting it done

Well congratulations, now you can stop whining about Deuce throwing away the football game. All they did was put an injured backup defensive tackle on injured reserve, we're losing nothing whatsoever -- this move can ONLY help. You don't like Deuce, that's fine, but if you've got nothing good to say; don't say anything at all. :boohoo:

If he upgrades special teams, that would be huge. It would definitely be a momentum changer if he broke a run or carried a pile. That's a demoralizing prospect.

If nothing, it energizes all those players who are nervous seeing a friend and proven performer line up next to them.

Yes, I was being pretty far-fetched thinking of Deuce at TE or DE. Odds are he won't be active this soon anyway, if at all this post-season. But being a Saints fan, I never say never.

Maybe this is all just a conspiracy to distract me at work on a Fri afternoon :-p.
