I think this is a very stand up and loyal thing to do by the Saints organization. There have been a number of players who gave everything to get this team to the point it is today. Mike McKenzie and Deuce are the best examples of bringing those guys in to help when needed most.

Adding him gives him a piece of what may wind up being a Super Bowl appearance if not a championship.

I hope they activate him and he breaks a big one.

guys, please stop quoting me. i thought u understood what i was tryin to say? im not living in the fantasy land with the rest of u right now. deuce wont be playing fb for the saints this year or anytime in his career. now he may line up there once or twice a game in short yardage to confuse a defense. im not ruling that out. but dont think hes goin to be the next mike alstott this late in his career. the idea of deuce at fb probably hasnt even crossed SP's mind. lol. there u go bringing the "debbie downer" out in me again

According to Adam Schefter the Saints have not announced that Deuce will be inactive and he thinks that Deuce will most likely be active for the game. Interesting twists and turns.

Bronko Nagurski did this in the early 40's with the Bears. He had actually been retired a couple of years, and the Bears asked him to come back, and they actually won a championship, with his help.

People don't understand me. I'm walking around beaming with a smile and they all ask why I'm so happy. I emphatically respond with "The Saints brought Deuce back! DEUCE!!!" I'm actually disappointed in their reactions as they shrug and say "So what?"

This is absolutely awesome. Whether Deuce is involved with any plays or not, just to see him run out on the field during introductions is going to make all of go nuts.

Of course, these losers are Viqueens/Cowgirls/other lame teams fans, so they don't understand the amount of excitment.

The only people who actually share in my happiness are other Saints fans. And there aren't very many here in SoDak.

If this is a "performance" signing instead of a PR/Motivation/Reward move, I have to think it has a lot to do with Deuce's ability to pick up blitzes and perhaps lay a hit or twelve on a certain DE/OLB who wears a star on his helmet that we may likely face next week.

I believe Deuce is a much better backfield blocker/chipper than anyone we have on our roster, IIRC.

I think its mostly PR/Reward, but if Bell/Thomas/Bush do get dinged up tomorrow, I can see 26 getting some PT next week.

nfl.com and PTI have stated that deuce will lead the team onto the field (and will most likely hear the biggest crowd noise ever) but won't see any action.
In my opinion if hes in good enough shape, give him the ball a couple of times, let the crowd deafen the cards

Deuce isnt even playing man. Just a classy thing to do. He is part of our family. I dont think PT would have gone full practice all week if the ribs are an issue.

How is A Boldin's knee/ankle these days?
